A French Girl's...

Vanity
Because her approach to beauty begins with skin care, she'll start with the best she can afford -- and always with an eye for the virtues of simplicity and quality. Because she's irrepressibly brand loyal, she might stick to her streamlined collection of skin care products for years.
  • day cream, eye cream, and night moisturizer
  • gentle toner and facial cleanser for the face
  • a natural and bristle brush.
  • one or two high-quality lipsticks (a fire engine red and a great neutral like soft brown or peachy peach), a light powder and powder brush, top-drawer mascara and eyeliner
  • the lightest pink or beige nail polish. and perhaps a real red for special occasions
  • for perfume, she has a couple of signature scents -- one for cold weather, one for warm weather

Dream Closet
  • a classic suit and coat
  • lots of superb pure pool Italian pullovers and one or two cashmere sweaters (and very little logo action)
  • black perfect-fitting pants
  • black ling skirts
  • a pair of jeans
  • excellent quality t-shirts in a suitable variety of cuts and colors
  • one or two hip skirts
  • a simple dress
  • one great silk shirt and simple cotton shirts, preferably in black
  • one or two perfect black dresses
  • two great hats
  • lots of scarves
  • costume jewelry from anywhere eccentric for a touch of fantasy
  • one beautiful black wool coat
  • one raincoat, preferably not in black
  • one very elegant and sporty coat
  • one pair of boots
  • one pair of walking shoes, preferably in red
  • one pair of black dress shoes
  • one pair of tennis shoes
  • one handbag
  • one bag in soft leather
  • something very high-end for that one ultra-elegant soirée
  • one sexy pullover, preferably in black
  • a collection of unique vintage pieces that take an exceptionally long time and a good eye to find.
