Apply Eye MakeUp

Everyday Eyes
  1. With a brown eyeliner pencil (more natural-looking than black), draw a line as close as possible to your upper lashes. Then apply a matte, earth-toned brown shadow along the crease of your eyelid. Brush a paler matte brown shadow on your lid. Emphasizing the crease in your lid makes your eyes appear larger.
  2. Curl your lashes and apply mascara. If your lashes are short, use a thickening mascara, not a lengthening one, which will weigh them down.
  3. To make your eyes seem larger, draw a thin line along your inner lower eyelid with a brightening pencil. A white pencil works with pale skin; for darker complexions, choose a golden-beige pencil.
  4. Dot a tiny bit of cream blush just under your brow bone. Blend with your pinkie down toward the crease of your eyelid. Adding a hint of blush to your lids complements the blush on your cheekbones, warming up your whole face.

Evening Eyes
  1. Apply a neutral eye shadow base over the entire lid up to the brow bone to even out skin tone and increase makeup staying power. Rather than using a wand to apply the creamy base (you'll get to much of it on your lids), tap it on the back of your hand and apply with your fingertip.
  2. With a black eyeliner pencil, draw a line as close as possible to your upper lashes. Hold your eyelid slightly taut and use the eyeliner pencil to draw dashes (instead of one long line) along your upper lashes. Then with a small eyeliner brush, smudge the dashes together. At the outer corner of the eyes, extend the line up a bit toward your temples.
  3. Curl your lashes. Use the curler to grasp your lashes closer to your lash line. This will prevent a crimp from forming in the middle, which is difficult to correct.
  4. A deep violet eye shadow flatters almost every eye color. (Brush it one before applying two coats of black mascara). To make your ayes look more wide-set, apply the deepest shadow color to the outside of your lid, lightening it as you move the brush toward the bridge of your nose. A touch of cream highlighter on the center of your eyelids will soften the shadow and brighten your eyes.
