Wound-Up Wrap
- Create three upside-down-U-shaped parts at the back of your head. The first should be from ear to ear going across your crown. The second should be from ear to ear across the center of the back of your head. The third should be one-and-a-half inches below the second.
- Pull the top section you've created into a half-ponytail at the crown of your head, and secure it with an elastic.
- Divide the remaining three sections of hair down the center so you have six sections of hair.
- Smooth the top right section of hair to the left and under your ponytail, pulling your ponytail hair straight down, tightly, to keep it in place while you follow the next step.
- Smooth the top left section of your hair over your ponytail and over the right section. Tuck the ends of the section under and secure them to your head to the right of the ponytail with one or two bobby pins, clipped in vertically.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 in the middle and bottom sections of hair, placing bobby pins both to the left and the right of the ponytail to secure it.
- If any long pieces remain at the nape of your neck, crisscross them over one another and secure them to the rest of your hair with one final vertical bobby pin.
Side Chignon
- Smooth all of your hair into a ponytail just above your right ear. Twist the hair into a tight bun and secure it with five or six bobby pins.
Tight Tucks
- Create a center part going from your hairline all the way to the nape of your neck.
- Starting at the center of the back of your head, twist the left half or your hair to the right and down towards your nape, tucking the ends up and under the twist at the bottom. Secure the twist along its length with decorative bobby pins.
- Create an identical twist going in the opposite direction in the right half of your hair.
Folded Pony
- Pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure it with an elastic.
- Fold your ponytail hair up and over the elastic, and secure it there with rhinestone bobby pins, letting the ends stick up and out to the right.
BELOW-THE-SHOULDER
Twisted-Bang Updo
- Brush all of your hair toward the front of the right side of your head.
- Starting at the center of your forehead, twist your hair down the length of your hairline towards your right ear, keeping as much volume as possible in the twist.
- When you've twisted all of your hair to just behind your right ear, flip the ends up and out and pin them in place using two or three bobby pins.
- Secure the twist along its length with four or five bobby pins.
Crisscrossed Part
- Create a center part in your hair that goes three inches back from your hairline.
- Take a one-inch section of hair to the right of your part and pull it back and to the left. Secure it to your head two inches back from your hairline with a diagonal bobby pin.
- Take a one-inch section of hair to the left of your part and pull it back and to the right, crossing it over the ends of the hair you pinned back in step 2. Secure it just after the overlap with a diagonal bobby pin.
- Continue pulling back, crossing over, and securing a one-inch wide sections of hair from both the left and right sides until you reach the crown of your head.
Turned and Tucked
- Create a center part from your hairline to the nape of your neck.
- Two inches back from your hairline, make another part to the left of the center part, down to your left ear.
- Take the two inch section of hair you've just created along the left half of your hairline. Starting at the top, begin twisting the hair down towards your left ear, gathering all the hair in that section as you go. When you reach your left ear, clip the twist to your head with a bobby pin to keep it in place while you work on the rest of the style.
- Two inches back from the downward part you created in step 2, create another part from your center part down to ear-level. Create an identical twist in the section of hair you've just created, clipping the end of the twist directly behind the first to keep it in place.
- Repeat step 4 all along the length of your center part until you've reached the center of the back of your head, then follow the same steps on the right half of your hair to make it look like the left.
- Take the ends of each of the clipped twists and twist them each along their length to the nape of your neck. Join the twists--along with any remaining hair--into a low ponytail and secure it with an elastic.
- Tuck the ponytail under itself and secure the ends underneath with three or four bobby pins.
Half-Up Swirl
- Create a part from ear to ear going across the back of your head.
- Create a center part in the top section of your hair.
- Smooth the left half of the top section back and, from your crown to the center of the back of your head, tuck the ends of the hair under tightly, using decorative bobby pins along its length to secure the tuck close against your head.
- Separate the right half of the top section of your hair into three sections--top, middle, and bottom.
- Pull the top section back to the crown of your head and tuck the ends under to create a high, open loop that covers the tuck you created in step 3. Secure the ends inside the loop with two bobby pins.
- Repeat step 5 on the middle and bottom sections to create a uniform swirl that runs from your crown to the center of the back of your head.
