Hair Style: for Straight and One-Length

SHOULDER-LENGTH

Side Roll
  • Create a deep side part on the right side of your hair.
  • Take a two-inch section from the front of your hair and wrap it up and back around your fingers above your left temple, creating a loosely coiled roll.
  • Tuck the ends underneath the roll, and secure them with a bobby pin or barrette.

Tails With A Coil
  • Create two parts going back from your temples to the top of your head.
  • Clip the section of hair between the parts to the side while you work on the rest of the style.
  • Separate the rest of your hair into two low pigtails and secure them with elastics.
  • Unclip the first section and twist the entire thing, from the left part all the way down the left side of your head.
  • Secure the twist behind your left ear with two or three bobby pins.

Three-Part Pull-Back
  • Part your hair from ear to ear across the top of your head to create an upside-down U.
  • Divide the the top section of hair into three more sections and secure each with an elastic.
  • Divide the center ponytail hair into two halves.
  • Combine the left section of the center ponytail with the left ponytail and secure them together with an elastic about three inches down from the first elastics.
  • Do the same with the right section of the center ponytail and the right ponytail.

Tousled Twists
  • Curl your hair with an large-barreled curling iron.
  • Separate a two-inch section of hair from the middle of your hairline. Twist it straight back to the top of your head and secure it there with a bobby pin, letting the curled ends hang loose.
  • Repeat all along your entire hairline, including at the back of your neck.
  • Spray the entire style lightly with hairspray and scrunch the curls with your fingers to create a messy look.

BELOW-THE-SHOULDER
Off-The-Face Flip
  • Create a deep side part starting above your left temple.
  • Gather the top section of hair to the right of the part and--starting above your right temple--twist it back and down.
  • Stop the twist just above your right ear and secure it there with two to three bobby pins.

Hair Loops
  • Create a center part from your forehead to the nape of your neck.
  • Gather the left half of your hair into a low pigtail. When securing it with an elastic, don't pull the pigtail hair all the way through--let the ends remain held by the elastic to create large loops.
  • Repeat on the right half of your hair.
  • Pull out random pieces of hair from each loop to create a messy look.

Polished Roll

  • Create a left-of-center part.
  • Take a three-inch section from the right side of the part and tightly twist it downward, stopping at the top of your right ear.
  • Secure the twist by anchoring it to the rest of your hair with a bobby pin.

Half-Up Faux Hawk
  • Separate your hair into a top half and a bottom half. Take the top half of your hair and separate out the middle section from temple to temple, clipping it or otherwise setting it aside.
  • Slick what remains of the top half of your hair (the left and right sides) back into a ponytail. Secure with an elastic.
  • Hold the middle section of your hair straight up by its ends and back-comb the roots for extra volume. Loosely pull that section back and secure it by the base of the ponytail with two bobby pins.
